With the countdown to preschool, we knew we had to fit in the three year well check. Not only did we need the immunization paperwork but we knew we had two more shots to go! So, we finally made the appointment. Yes, he turned three almost nine months ago. Yes, we only went to the doctor because of preschool. Yes, Alexander told the doctor Blue Moon is his favorite food (don't judge - he doesn't drink it, for God's sake).
Turns out, he is average and perfectly normal. Duh. He's a picky eater. Doctor says that is fine. Duh. He still uses his binky. Doctor says we should remove it at 4 years (I think she should fight that battle for us). He is non stop movement. Doctor says that is fine. Duh. He still has a bit of a lisp and lacks articulation with certain syllables. Doctor says he should grow out of it. And if he doesn't, that's ok, too. Duh.
He's 35 lbs (50th%). He's 3'3" (50th%). He is wearing 4T.
He's a boy. Not a baby. Not a toddler. He's our little boy.
And we may love him more now than when we met him - almost3 years and 9 months ago.
