And the award goes to...

Alexander: "You stay home with me all day and all night now, Mommy?"

Mommy: "No, honey. Mommy has 16 days of school until summer and then she will be home all day with you." *the days change as we count them down together*

Alexander: "But it is taking FOREBER. Summer is NEBER going to be here".

Mommy: "I know it seems like forever".

Alexander: "I don't like it, Mommy."

Mommy: "I know, honey. It makes Mommy sad, too."

Alexander sighs. "I'm more sad than you, Mommy. I guess I'll play with Daddy and Umma AGAIN today." Looks at Mommy with emotional manipulation in his eyes.

Mommy: "Yes, and you'll have fun."

Alexander: "But I'll miss you all day long." Starts to cry, as if directed from Martin Scorsese (or Uncle Patrick).

Give that kid an Oscar.

If the boy can't go to Disney World...

...we bring Disney World to the boy!

Alexander and his grandparents found this gem of a prize at a garage sale today.
It is a miniature Disney World train, complete with lights, whistle (duct tape over the speaker) and a steam engine.
And the train has been going non-stop since they brought it home.

Such a Big Boy

Mr. Independence has learned to dress himself.

We all put our pants on one leg at a time.

Even if the pants end up on backwards some days,

we're still really proud of Mr. Independence.

How many weeks ago was it??

I swear, this trip seems like it happened ages ago.

Plane ride with Ho-Ho Papa

Belly giggles with Uncle Patrick

Epcot with Mommy, Daddy.

CHEERS!

Singing with Auntie Kimi so I wouldn't realize we were going on Pirates of the Caribbean (which scared me in Disneyland)

We're going to Disneyworld!!

Look where I had a chance to run in circles when Auntie let go of my hand!

Congratulations Casey and Fidelia!
A new baby is like the beginning of all things-wonder, hope, a dream of possibilities.
