Thanksgiving Recap

Thanksgiving. A day spent with family, surrounded by love and laughter. This year we headed to Grandma Greats (mommy's grandma) for the holiday, minus Daddy. Daddy had a terrible headache that lasted for days and unfortunately, he couldn't join us. We missed him so much.

The house was filled with the sound of children's voices as we waited for the food to finish cooking.

Lorelli, Mackenzie, Mason and Alexander had so much fun together!

Auntie Kim spent quite a bit of time on the floor, playing trains with her nephew. These were the best pictures I could take of his holiday outfit - we love the color orange on this kid!

We have much to be thankful for this year.

Go Team!

A few weeks ago, Mommy came downstairs, dressed in her favorite college team gear. Daddy was in charge of dressing Alexander that day and surprise, surprise, he dressed our son to match. I immediately directed him asked him nicely to take our picture, knowing this was blog-worthy.

Little did we know uncooperative Alexander would be for us (or how tired I would look)!

Fast moving toddler=blurry picture!

Thankful

thanks·giv·ing (thngks-gvng) n.
1. An act of giving thanks; an expression of gratitude, especially to God: a hymn of thanksgiving.
2. Thanksgiving Thanksgiving Day.

How can we look at this face and NOT give thanks?

Happy Thanksgiving to all our loved ones.

Finding Nemo

We were invited to visit the aquarium with friends on Mommy's day off this week. Mommy and Alexander had never been and it had been years since Daddy visited.

Alexander was quite content to watch his friends play in water and touch the animals.

It was quite enough for him to watch the fishes from behind a glass wall.

Or play on the kid toys.

Who knew pieces of felt could bring so much entertainment?

After we enjoyed a tasty lunch at Ivar's (they sold cups of chowder at the 1975 prices!), we took the kids on a carousel ride.

Someone is most definitely ready for a trip to DISNEYLAND!!

Merry Christmas?

There may be 43 days left to Christmas but when one has snow bird grandparents, Christmas can occur any time of the year!

Look at that fighter jacket! Is Alexander Maverick or Goose?

One of Umma's favorite things to do is read to Alexander. So, Christmas must include a few new books (and Mama is thankful since she is tired of reading the same books all the time!)

A new kite just waiting for a windy day.

Just goes to show that it doesn't matter what day of the year a family celebrates Christmas.
It only matters that they celebrate it together.

If you don't believe...

...read McMama's blog (listed in my blog list).

There are varying levels of faith in all of us but hearing about this story might just have you thinking, "God is good" tonight.

And love your kids just a little closer.

Night Light Me

Lately, Alexander started turning on his bedroom light several times throughout the night. We thought a night light might do the trick. We found this cute little guy at IKEA.

We tried it out during naptime.
We found the two of them curled up in bed.*

With the light on.

*picture taken post nap so we wouldn't wake him with the flash

Mommy's Blog

Hi everyone,

This blog is about me.

Never Had A Better Day is about Mommy. She invites you to visit. But she also knows I'm way cuter and you may not care what she is doing. Check it out when you have a chance. And then come back here to visit me.

Daddy doesn't have a blog. Two is enough for this family.

Love,
Alexander

Don't try this at home

I'm not sure this is what the toy manufacturers had in mind when they created the mini-coupe.
